How Fast

How fast??

2000 3.8L V6 46000miles

Vortech 9PSI supercharger, intercooler, aftercooler
Mac Headers, h-pipe, mufflers
$8000 air ride tech. system ground to 4inch above stock
100shot NOS nitrous
hypertech Chip
Shift Kit
Slicks
Cold air induction
Underdrive pulleys
P-51 intake
70mm TB
70mm Mass Air Meter

What kinda times do you think that this setup will run?? I am looking to buy it for pretty cheap and i wanna see what numbers i can put up..

uh... fast enough... but how long has the supercharger and NOS been on there? Those can tear up a motor pretty bad when it's not meant for that much stress. It will be fast, but I wouldn't know how long it would last...

I call :bs: on this guy for one thing the P-51 intake is for a 4.6L not a 3.8L and secondly your not going to get a car cheap that has $8000 of air ride on it. Thirdly if it has an S/C on it, it is not going to have a CAI on it.

I want to know why to spend all that freakin money on a v6 when he could've gotten a GT and put it in the 10's and 9's with that much freakin money invested in that 6. that and all that expensive air ride b/s when it sounds like the exhaust system could use more work. And what about the drivetrain on this thing? what's a shift kit??? a kit with a short throw or a kit with a T-lok or wtf? is it a auto or standard? and if it's cheap.... what's wrong with it?

^ ok first a shift kit is something that you get for autos to change the factory shift points for better performance out of your auto tranny.

all i can say is either you left out a lot or :bs: is right. if there runnin nitrous and a 9psi supercharged that thing had better have a built engine w. forged internals, better have a beefed up tranny, and esp if its really gonna be running slicks its gonna need to have an 8.8 rear end swapped onto it. i dunno bout the p51 intake but the guy was right about the fact that there cant be a CAI w/ a supercharger. on top of that you shouldnt be running underdrive pullies w/ boost. another thing is an 8k airride suspendsion doesnt seem as through it would compliment that setup or those slicks....

now if this is all tru and this car does in fact have beefed up engine internals, tranny, and rear end not mentioned above im estimating 13's on street tires and if you can launch w/ the slicks possibly low 13's...... maybe u might see 12s. both of those are estimates assuming that the nitrous and supercharger are being used simultaneously. o and thats also granted that the car will hold up to all of that if not then your 1/4 times will be based on how fast the tow truck is

a shift kit is not just for changing shifts... in fact i dont know about your trannys but my shift points is controlled by a few things like a solenoid and TV cable... newer cars are electronically controlled, so you need to reprogram

shift kit quickens the shifts to make them lightning fast

and air ride is not that great for performance. it handles ok with it and can be alright at the strip, but it doesnt beat a proper shock/spring setup

How much horsepower cna the stock V6 block handle? What kinda horse do you think that Im pushing with what i have.

What i meant with a CAI was that it's custom tubing which leads into a K&N air filter. pretty much what a CAI is. And for the Air ride.. I know thats its not really meant for the 1/4 mile track but it does perform well. Maybe not as well as coil overs but this car is not just for racing. It's a show car with some go..

What internal would anybody suggest to make this V6 run low 11 or 10's.

teh p-51 = :bs: it is an aftermarket 4.6 manifold

and with underdrive pullies how did you get the crank pullie for the s/c to even fit on there? and it it is a kit that incorperates the factory assesory drive you are going to loose boost with a smaller crank pulley

100 shot + 9psi........ :nono: just to give you an idea of what happens when you an juice to boost, most people that run a 50 shot will see over 125 at the wheeles. much over that and you better be doing some veeeeery careful tuning. to the point that if you are the littlest bit off your timing or even just get a bad load of gas you WILL blow your motor. especially on that hypertech chip. hypertech = :bs: :barf:

what brand is this 70mm MAF for v6's?

you have an intercooler and an aftercooler?

even if I am wrong and you do have this whole sutup and the car actually starts it must run like absolut garbage on the hypertech. I'll bet it runs so bad that thing can't get out of its own way. and once you hit the NO2 I can gaurantee you will grenade your motor.

and just for the record a shift kit does not alter the shift points. if it did that means that there was something wrong with either the transmission or the way you installed the shift kit. shift points are controlled at 2 possible points, either the governer at the back of the trans or in your case, since it is a 2000 model, most likely at the ecu. I'm not going to get into all the details, but basically it increases line pressure at certaint points in the valvbody. most will also come with a mod for the boost valve, line bias valve, and mods to the accumulators.

but on yours most of this can be done from the ecu or a laptop

ok sorry about my lack of knowledge on the shift kit(i have a 5spd)

a stock v6 block can handle a whole bunch of horsepower but the transmission and rear end im pretty sure start to give around 300hp/300tq but anywhere around there and the right launch will leave your 7.5" rear end in peices. the problem with the engine is that you cant feed it a lot of boost safely. you might be ok on 9psi but you will need a nice tune, but throw in nitrous into the equation and your engine doesnt stand a chance until you have some forged internals. and judging from the mods(whether they are legit or not) you should be seeing near 300 hp possibly more(possibly less if your still running stock h/c/i) but it def looks like a stock tranny and rear end killer to me.

as for running 10's there are a handful of sixers doing it... but most of them are straight strip cars not daily drivers. i believe one is a 3.8 dropped into an 88 fox by supersix motorsports w/ a built custom 4.3 stroker, slicks and a big ol shot of nitrous. i believe their car ran 10.5 or 10.3. its not easy to put a 6 into that range.

i dunno too much about the intercooler and aftercooler deal but it sounded strange to me too. im not sure if they work together or not???

it might be possible but i doubt it. if it is it will be a lot of money for the tranny alone not to mention what kinda custom stuff you would have to do to get it to work on the 6. its likely that its not possible though

I have an 87, 88, and a 89 mustang.. So, the 5-speed from one of them will fit in there.. What about the T56?? Since that will fit where the t5 fits why wont it fit in the 6?

You'll need a 5.0L bell housing made for the T56 to make it work. You'll need $2500 just for the T56 trans $300 for the bell housing and another $1000 for the various other things needed to make it work.
