What's up guys. I'm going to be turbocharging my engine some time in the winter and was just thinking if I should upgrade these parts? 500 lbs of TQ is the estimated goal. What do you recommend I upgrade? I'm keeping the H/C/I stock. The kit comes with mostly everything. Will do the fuel rails.

Motor wise what seems to be shady for a 500TQ motor? Oil pan and oil pump is getting upgraded. Thanks

go with a 1 piece chromemoly pushrod, Trickflow makes them, and the springs will need to be matched to what ever cam you use.

At 500 the block, pistons, rod bolts, etc become the weak link...

Stock cam is staying untill I do the shortblock......Should I really be concearned about the springs/pushrods? The block is staying for now. Dont have the money for a Dart block right now. Maybe I'll throw a girdle on it.

But just talking above the pistons what looks like it needs an upgrade. I want to get a least a couple thousands out of the motor. Also I heard about thicker head gaskets.....will they lower compression? What do you think about this? Thanks for the reply

I`m not really sure how strong the stock pushrods are,but I would replace them with better aftermarket pushrods,as they are much stronger.

As for the stock valve springs...definately replace them as they are barely adequate for a stock 5.0L engine and will probably "float" over 5000 rpm, especially if they have high mileage on them.

Valve springs are a critical important component to any engine.
