I'm thinking of buying a piston and rod kit installed in my factory shortblock. Since its not damaged. I won't get it bored .20. It doesn't need to be. I can get the kit I want for about $1300-$1400. Manley Forged H-Beam Rods, Manley Forged Pistons,Clevite 77 Race Rod Trimetal Bearings,Manley Plasma Moly File Fit Rings,Full Floating Wrist Pins with Spiral Locks and arp head studs and main studs.
I see no reason to go ahead and get a new built shortblock, when i can just add the rod and piston kit in mine.
So am I just cutting corners, by doing this or will it be ok to the 400-550 rwhp numbers?
But to the main questions. How much in labor am I looking at with the engine in car delivered?
