hi my name is alan.

i recently purchased a 99 stang V6 that had a little damage done to it (mostly cosmetic) that i paid $500 for well its all fixed cept for the one problem i have.....

will the car run fine with both airbags deployed...?????? if not is there some way i can bypass them(crossing wires or something)??? is there a reset switch for any of this??????

any help will be greatly appreciated....

thanks in advance
alan

well yeah the car runs but it runs like ****........pardon me...

i dunno if when i rammed a crowbar into the side of the computer in the passenger side kick panel and right in to the computer itself has anything to do with it....

but how do you trick the car into thinking that they r still hooked up???

just to make the light go out... i cant take out the bulb i know that it will beep and i aint having that every time i start the damn thing

Hmmm. the crowbar could have something to do with it if it went into the computer itself. I really dont think the airbags would be the cause of the rough engine. I would think if it would cause anything, it wouldnt start. But I really don't know enough about the airbag system to know for sure.

well here is a little bit of information for all of us i have a friend that works at a ford dealership and well according to company policy they cant tell you anything like that about "going around" the airbag system but like i siad he is a friend and you dont have to have the air bags in it to run or drive the vehicle.......just unhook the module under the passenger side seat...i think thats where he said it was it will turn off the light and the beep

Removing the airbag control module will completely disable the system, although the light may still be on, in which case you'll have to pull the bulb too.

One little problem- the airbag module is under the DRIVER SIDE DASH! The computer you smashed with the crowbar was your engine computer. :owned:

Sounds like a trip to a junkyard for a new computer, followed by a trip to the dealer to read any trouble codes. Then you can tell what needs to be repaired for the engine to run right.

thanks for the heads up on where that sensor is just one more thing......wtf does it look like.....where exactly is it under the dash and is it accessable?? well i guess that was a few more things but if anyone can attach a pic of this damn thing it would be greaqtly appreciated
