I ordered an 05 V8 vert in May of 05. It has now been 26 weeks and the dealer still has no word. They told me it may be up to 4 months. I am 2 past that now. Just wondering how long people had to wait ? I am getting a bit impatient at this point.

Who is your dealer and where are they located at? You should have been bumped up to an 06 model.

Your dealer is screwing you. Has he given you a copy of the DORA? (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgemnet)
With supply almost caught up with demand, dealers now know for sure when their orders will be pulled and the car will be built.
Run from that dealer as fast as you can... and when you get your car from another dealership be sure to drive by the old one, honk the horn, and flip them off.

It was just over a month for me between initial order and pickup. I shopped around for a dealer that would give me a reasonable price and had immediate allocation. If you're waiting 4 months it better be because you're getting a smoking deal.

Something looks wrong here, they have a ton of unfulfilled orders dating way back. Looks like they may be out of trust with Ford and not getting in orders.

I ordered my '06 GT in late september and it came in 8 weeks later, just a week before halloween. I had one of the new '06 colors too. Something is definitely horribly wrong if it's taking this long to get an '05.

umm bump? his order cant be an 05 kaus, they dont happen to make those anymore.. hence you got an 06 in september... you really cant get an 05 new unless it just has been sitting on the lot for no reason.. ohh say because it has like a 4000$ mark up on a $25K car.. haha

Well he says in the original post he ordered on '05. If he ordered in May he should've gotten on '05. I have no idea if he could expect to get an '05 or an '06 now. I guess that just depends on wether his car has been made and has been held up getting to the dealer somehow or if the order is still waiting to be filled at the factory.

yeah see sry i didnt mean to be rude.. but the 05s arnt made any more.. they now have 2006's so if he ordered an 05 from the dealer.. like me.. they rolled his order over to an 06 because ford could not build as many units as orders in that first year so they just transfered them to an 06 order.

not sure yet, i see your pick and i have to ask how you like them... are they vinyl or painted? and how much did they cost? and most importantly do you like them? and finally do they attract cops? sry to distract from the main thread but o well i have posted on this topic so much i feel that i am the honorary moderator of this thread. (unfortunatly)

but good things come to those who wait

I love them. They are painted Ford Satin Silver (TL) and you can not feel them at all. The painter did a excellent job. They have a nice coat of clear coat over top. I haven't attracted any cops yet...knock on wood!!
I was quoted between $6-700. The job took alot longer than he anticipated, but he was willing to stick to his original quote. I paid him $750 and wished I could have tipped him more.
Good Luck with your order. You have been very patient.

Sounds like you've been waiting long enough...still c/u after 6 months? I ordered from Pistilli (NJ) in the beginning of March, and after being c/u at the end of July and being told it would be another 2-3 months, I said forget it and got my deposit back. Unfortunately, I didn't know about allocation back in March. All-American (NJ) has a high allocation of Mustang GTs and they're real good to deal with. They told me 8-12 weeks, and I drove away my 06 in exactly 9 weeks (ordered 8/1, drove it home 10/3). They also sell Saleens, if your pocket is deep enough...LOL. Anyway, it may be time to look elsewhere, IMHO. Kevin

If I were you I'd be calling other dealers and asking them what their allocations are for the 06 Mustangs, and how long it would take them to get your car once you order from them.
-------------------------------------
To give you an idea of what I went through with my 05 Mustang GT...
I had been talking to a few dealers about the 05 starting in May of 04, then by the middle of October (the day I saw an ad in the paper for an 05 Mustang with a $3,500 markup) I decided it was time to order.
I called one dealer and was told that if I ordered a new Mustang I wouln't get it for a year. Called another dealer and was told 6 weeks. Ordered my car on October 20 and drove it home on December 28.
-------------------------------------
Back to your situation-
Based on what I've seen on other forums people have taken delivery in as little as one month, while others are in the same situation that you're in.
-------------------------------------
Another option for you is to order from another dealer and have it shipped to a dealer close to you. That's something I seen lots of people do on other forums.

If you need more information please e-mail me and I'll send you the links to some dealers and sites.
