I got my 6000k kit in a group purchase a few years ago from stangmods. They have been great so far, but they are getting old. A couple times I noticed one headlight was out by looking in the reflection of the car in front of me at a stop light.

As soon as I noticed, I shut them off, waited a few seconds and turned them back on. The one that was out flashed really bright, then warmed up like normal.

Perhaps one of the ballasts is going out. How long can I expect these to last with heavy use?

Could it be one of the relays? I would get the same scenario. On my 98, the relay finally went bad. Opened it up and it was completely corroded. Got a new one, sealed with silicone. Should last an other 3-4 years.

If you have multiple relays, check to see if you can hear them clicking when you power them up.

Going with OEM equipment does have its advantages. I would suggest finding a retrofitting site and get quality ballasts.

I have had my kit for 4 years and it still works.

...I have replaced the relays 3 or 4 times. After they went out the first time, i called the company and had them send me 12 relays lol
