How long does your 4.6 take to warm up?

i think your car is normal.

It is normal.

It's a large V8 engine with HUGE aluminum heads. It's gonna take some time to warm up.

My 96 Gt warms up in about a mile or two and The 03 gt warmed up in about 5 to 6 miles. So not sure what the difference between the two are. The 96 doesn't overheat or nothing. It just warms up quicker.

the guage itself is inaccurate. i have a scan gauge in my car and in the morning IIRC the temp gets up to over 160 before the guage goes over the "C" line and slowly comes up towards the center when the temp hits in the mid 180s. keep in mind the guage stays there while the actual temp fluctuates beween 190-215 based on your fan settings

Mine would do it within 10mins usually. But i wouldnt compare it to a focus...the low temp cooling fan cuts ON at like 210 degrees on a focus lol. High temp is like 230+

it takes quite a awhile with a 180 t-stat and two stages cooler plugs to run where it should be for my car now - but then it'll stay they all day no matter the abuse.
