How much boost can the stock ignition handle?

Would 12lbs of boost be ok an a 1996 4.6 GT ignition?

if this is on a stock '96 GT engine, then the stock ignition systems is the last thing you need to worrie about at 12psi

I am looking at installing a stock 4.6 ignition, on a 351w to eliminate the distributor. Wow much boost will the ignition handle?

not tryna hijack ur thread but i was wondering the same thing but with the 02 gt. I'll be doing vortech and well overall how much boost can the car handle with stock internals?

well if thats the case, I've seen guys make 15lbs+ on the stock ignition...
now this is really interesting, a few guys I know who run alot of boost on a Modular, switch to a distributor type ignition and you want togo the other way


keep us posted on how this works for you

Yeah, pretty much like how some GT guys want the IRS from Cobras and vice versa. lol

I run 20psi with no problems.
