Yeah, i can't wait. I'm definitely going with the 3.73s. I called a shop the other day and they said that i should replace the bearings too while i'm at it, since i have like 123k miles. Should I?
Yes, replace them while your there. If you don't you will be back in there again soon. These usualy last a long time, but 132k is a lot, and after doing service used bearings are never the same. If you pay to have this done later it will cost as much as the gear instal does now without them, and if you do it now it should only cost you a little bit more (should be about 30% more, max). Saves time and money to do it now!
Are you running those 4.10's with an automatic or manual transmission? I have an automatic and thinking of going with the 4.10 gear ratio. I hear it's the best way to go for automatics.
Im suprised jrichker hasn't posted to this question yet. According to him, and not to put words in his mouth you can get a rear end from another car....can't remember which one it is and swap out your rear end (depending on the year of your car). He could probably give you more information about what alterations need to be made, but that way you don't have to mess with gear alignment and meshing. I have never done anything like it so I can't talk from experience but it is food for thought. When I get to that step i am going to see what it takes to do it jrichker's way.
