Fill the rear diff until the oil starts running out the sight/fill plug hole. Don't forget the little bottle of friction modifier for the posi.

you're supposed to fill it up to about 1/8 inch below the bottom of the filler hole. Make sure you put the friction modifier in there first so you get it all in.

Don't spill the friction modifier on yourself either. You will stink for days.

my owner's manual says 3.75 pints. this helps when going to the auto parts store. unlike the previous answers.
