How much HP can a cobra make before requiring to use C16?

I would like to know what is the limit on 93 octane? What if I upgrade the supercharger and injections and retuned the computer? Would I still be able to use pump gas? Sorry if it's a stupid question... I'm a newbie.

It's a newbie question for sure :D

There's no magic number. It all depends on how you tune the car. Race gas burns a lot differently than pump gas. Tuners can dial in more timing and lean out the a/f a little more, which results in more power.

I've seen guys run 600RWHP and run 93 octane gas.
I'm at 525RWHP and mix 110 with my 94 octane gas. My timing is at 21 degrees. Honestly, I do this on the advice of my tuner. Pump gas is too inconsistent in their octane rating. Therefore race gas is used as my safety margin. Don't forget, 110 has lead in it. There are places that sell 100 unleaded gas as well.

Whatever gas you plan to run, make sure the tuner tunes the car with that octane in the car.

How about an a 03 - 04 cobra svt engine? How much HP on pump gas before requiring race gas? Reason I ask is because I don't know if you have a built engine or not. I want to know what are my limits. I would like to be in the low to mid 500rwhp range with pump gas.

What year Cobra do you have?

If it's a pre 03 then you don't have a forged bottom end. 500RWHP seems to be the limit, then bad things start happening. However, you could be at 425RWHP and still have the engine blow up.

If it's an 03-04 then it comes forged. You could run 500+RWHP on pump gas. Don't forget, these blowers have an intercooler and heat exchanger which reduces the inlet temperatures, helping to eliminate detonation. Therefore, race gas doesn't come into the equation until much high RWHP numbers.
