How much HP would be given up by using the stock cam with 1.7rr as opposed to a semi-mild comp cams, lunati or aftermarket?
the combo as of right now is afr 165's and a ported cobra intake with supporting mods.
Any ideas?
Dan

Don't know.

Since I don't have a dyno the only way to compare the 2 is by actual valve lift and duration.

What are the specs you are considering?

How do they compare to the stock grind?
I don't remember the specs on the stock cam.

well the reduced friction should be worth up to 10 horsepower, but i have no idea what the increased lift will add.

The increased lift will help you at the top end of the rpms when you can hold the throttle down slightly longer, how much hp all depends on your other mods.

Well my other mods would be AFR 165's, ported cobra intake and supporting hardware running the stock cam and 1.7 rr's.

Your giving up 20-35hp depending on the cam. Don't be cheap, Dan Think about all those ***gots in our area who's mommy and daddy bought them 03 cobra's or BMW's. Wanna beat them or stay behind them?

You can still make decent power with the stock cam and have perfect driveability.
