How much power before the block breaks?

In the next few years, i plan on tearin old blue apart and playin with her a bit. Well, in the middle of school, work, moving, marriage, etc. etc. But, the idea is a junk yard twin turbo. I plan on getting some better heads, some nice roller rockers, stock cam, maybe a custom grind, different intake, etc. etc. etc. but basically a turbo motor to the hilt. I don't know what i'll do bottom end, but i'd like to know how much the stock block handles. I'll be on a pretty strict budget, and don't want to go buy a new one. I've heard 450 is the limit before. I've also heard there are ways of strengthening it, although sometimes unpractical or unwise.

Well ive been running on a stock block for awhile now. I do have a girdle and windage tray. Anyways I am putting down 480 rear wheel horse which is like 560 at the motor. I have heard as long as you keep them under 6k rpms you can really put some power down.

Im looking to push over 500 rwhp with my new pms (soon as it gets here, Been on backorder for like a month now ) So thats roughly like 600 hp... I will let you and everybody know what the limit is as soon as it happens..

Turbo makes power more effiecently, easier on the motor, and with an Intercooler, youll have cooler input tempts. Im making 524 rwhp on my stock block, 331 forged and girdled with a S-trim. I dont spin it past 5400, however, those power numbers are from 6000 rpm. Just food for thought..
 
Turbo only robs maybe 5% of the motors power to drive them, vs a blower wich robs a percentage much higher. Think about it.. Turbos are driven by exhuast presure/gasses. The only way they can rob power is by backpresure. Blowers need to be belt driven, therefor take more power from the motor to make the same #'s a turbo setup would.

Just build the turbo setup and run it. Theres plenty of guys on TM.com that do it all the time.
