How much should a used IRS cost?

Hi. I have an 86 Mustang that I put a panhard bar into. A guy I know is selling his IRS out of his Cobra for 700.00 that he says is in perfect shape. I do know that his car goes mid 10's. SO I am wondering if this is a good price and what tends to break on them, and what I should look for as far as problems go when I go to take a look at it? I am into Auto crossing, not drag, and was going to do a Torque arm this spring, and need my rear diff fixed as the clutch packs are shot, so this will be about the same price as the IRS. Also, anyone know of someone who put an IRS into a fox, and how much of a pain it was?

What year is the IRS out of? Depending on the year, $700 for a used IRS sounds a little on the high side for an asking price.

I am looking at buying an IRS out of an 04 with Bilsteins, MM springs, 390 gears, driveshaft, and Magnaflow catback, upgraded bushings, etc. The guy wants 400. I am planning to put it in my fox as well

wow that sound like an awosome price. i was thinking about traiding my rear MM suspension for a IRS. but if there that cheap ill just keep it and keep the one i like more
