How much timing do you take out with say a ..100hp shot?

Dry kit. I have 306ci w/ Trick flow TW heads, Track Heat intake, headers, pulleys, 24# inj, 155 fuel pump..

It is nice to have nitrous but pulling too much timing will take away from the fun of normal driving.

I bought a MSD Digital6+ it has a timing retard that you can hook up to the n2o. You can then run your timing that is best for N/A and when you turn on the n2o it powers the retard and you have the timing out for the n2o fun time.

Its not a bad idea to have a stronger ign. anyway.

I think I am going to use a NOS wet kit soon. I just need to find someplace locally that will fill nitrous. Both places that carried it went out of business this summer.

100 shot should get me running with some quick cars. Until I can afford some real mods.

I'd run 6*-8* on the bottle. Better to be safe than sorry, been there/done that. After you spray it, just put it back to normal. 18* should be the ticket on motor. Been there/done that :)

If its a dry kit, you need more fuel pump. Use a 255 high pressure.

Thanks for all the ideas guys! This is a particularly good 1. BTW, can you be running along at normal timing and let's say you want to changethe setting while in the car, can I do that? How about while the car is running down the hwy. Not that I would ever want to hit it on the street!! :Zip2:

The 2* per 50 would put me at 11* as I am running 15* currently.

The dials to change the timing, there is a two step built in, rev. limiter, startup timing retard, and a regular timing retard are on the box. I mounted mine under the hood but if you placed it inside the cabin within reach...

Really once you set up how much retard you want, that is how it works you dial in how much you want out from were ever you have it...at say 14-15*. There is no need to change it unless you go to a larger shot size.

The timing retard is turned on by a 12v source. I had it wired up to my n2o master on switch. So when the n2o noids had power (even without the WOT switch being tripped turning them on) the timing was out. Its a one wire deal either it has 12v and is working or it is off. With this setup at the flip of a switch the timing was best for N/A and n2o. Yes you could turn it on at any time while driving without having to make any more changes.

I paid like 300$ for the box 4-5yrs ago.

I wouldn't run more than 8*. It sucks blowing head gaskets on the gas :notnice:

I noticed summit has a NOS kit that says it fits 86-93 5.0's. It is adjustable from 75-100 which is what I'm looking for. Any reason a fox system wouldn't work on a sn95? I am not worried about making small modifications to make it work.

The N.O.S. brand kit I always see is the 5115 dry kit.

As far as total timing on our 94-95's, at WOT the total is around 26* total or so (that is with the 10* base that is "thought" to be at 10* always). So if your running 11* at the dizzy you will see 27*, if your running 8* at the dizzy you will have 24*.

9-10* should be fine on a 100 shot as long as there is no det. prior to n2o use. Every car is diff. and reacts diff. to mods so yes err on the side of safty and move up slowly.

I run 6 to 7* on the 125 shot. 1 step colder plugs, and bump the fuel pressure a bit.

I've run 9* but I have to bump the fuel pressure A LOT to keep it from burning an electrode off a plug. :D

Also depends on what gas you run.... so just keep listening to the engine. So far it's always given me a heads up before poppin' a plug.
