I am soon taking possesion of an odd bird, an old MG with the 200 6cyl and C4 out of a 65 mustang. I have been told "It drives great but the rear gears should be replaced because at higher speeds the engine turns to many RPM's. "
I currently own a 66 mustang (289) and a 63 Impala - but admitedly don't know a lot about engines and transmissions.
What does he mean? Does this mean a "rebuild" - what would that run me (approximately).
Also, if anyone in the DC area has a rebuilt 6cyl/transimission they are looking to unload let me know just in case.
Thanks
