I was wondering how much is good to spend on a 50-75 shot of nitrous? Also will it be ok on a pi converted engine?

yes you should be fine running up to 100 shot.
I'm sure you can barely used kit for around $400-500.
You can get a bare bones kit for probably around $500-600.
Or you can get an nice safe kit with all the goodies for around $1000.
If it were me, I'd look around for kits that people barely used because they made the mistake of buying. If nothing, I'd buy a well equipped kit for $1000.
