Hey there i recently picked up this 1980 intermeccanica cabrio convertible mustang. When i got it i didnt know what exactly it was but soon figured it out. According to intermeccanicas site there were only 1200 built between 1980 and 1982, few being the 255 cu inch 4.2l v8

Intermeccanica Cabrio - Mustang Convertible

Does anyone have any information on these cars? Thanks Here is what they looked like brand new.

It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

Well you kind of answered your own question. 1200 is a small run for 80-82. That car should be worth something if it's not rusted out. Looks pretty cool, can you post any better pictures of it?

Seeing as foxes are nearing the point of being considered classics, I'd say you have something special there if you could restore it correctly.

Holy Moly- never heard of this before.

1982 Mustang Photo Collection - MustangAttitude

looks like a predecessor to the McClaren's of the mid 80's.

intermeccanica.org/vehicles/cabrio/cabrio.htm

I would check around for sale prices on these before emabarking on a restoration. Chances are you will spend more on restoration than it is worth as they used Merceded parts which are very expensive. Per the referenced article. the conversion added $14000 to the price of the car- in 1982

To the OP:

Great find man. I would love to see something like that fully restored.

I see that someone put Ponies on the one. What wheels does the other one have?

That last portion, I think that is a misprint. A fully loaded GT went for what, $8500 new?

$1,400 seems more likely in 1982 dollars.

None of those look like the ones that I remember. They were like machined silver tribar looking things. I think they had narrow slits on the bars.

That's pretty badass, I had it figured in my head that you might eventually find a complete set from multiple places.

They look like they're in amazing shape.
