How Restictive Are Stock Cats?

Hi, I normally don't post in this forum so forgive me if you see this question alot or think it's stupid. I am buying an X-pipe from a guy who claimed in his ad that it had "Ford high flow cats". He sent me pics and a part number for the cats, #5F250F4ZC. The pipe he's selling only has two of these converters on it. I have heard that these are the stock cats from 94-95 stock h-pipes. Can anyone verify this for me? He honesty claims they are "high flow" but if they are plain stock cats, I really don't see how. I know that the stock Fox converters are known to be quite restrictive so I was wondering how they match up to the 94-95's? Big difference between the two? Do they flow any better? Thanks for any insight.

the stock 95 mid pipe had 4 cats on it. Which is rediculously restrictive. There are two in the middle and two towards one of the ends, I forget which end off the top of my head. Anyway, if there are only 2 cats, they will flow more then the stock set up. However, imho that sounds fairly shady and I would just pick up some off road x's and save the stock setup for emissions. If I could do it over thats what I would have done instead of goin with a high flow cat setup.

I already have an offroad pipe. I'm getting this pipe to pass the visual for emissions. I have pics of the pipe and I don't think it's shady. I think it's a homemade job but it looks to be very well done, and it's stainless also. :nice:

if its for visual emissions then buy the cat covers or find some old cats an take the covers off and weld them onto your off road pipe so they look like they are there

Go for the no cat H or x. i just put my cats back on for emissions and it was pretty noticable. my torque seemed to drop to about 1500 instead of pulling at 2, and there really didn't seem to be much above 3 anymore. I'm definatly ready to put that thing on again. Not to mention i have everybody revvin at me now that it's warmer out, especially cuz of the euro's and the summit and BBK stickers on the rear corner windows. it's just not cool to not rev back. all it does is "whoosh" not VROOOOOOOOM like it's supposed to. eh
