Anybody got a picture of how to do this? I was installing these last night on my GT, and couldn't figure out how they go together. I didn't take apart the stock struts because I want to reuse them on another car. If I get tdesperate I'll take the stockers apart, but I'm hoping someone has a pic showing how these things go together.

I guess I am lost to what your asking.

I mean the strut is one piece. it bolts on to the spindle assemble and the shaft runs through the upper mount or are you talking about how the upper mount goes together?

Yeah - how the upper mount goes together. It looks to me like the struts are missing one component. The upper mount just slides up and down on the upper strut shaft.

I'm going to take the stock mount apart and see what is missing.

You'll need all the stock upper mounts to install the mach 1 struts. There is a dust cover, a mounting plate, some rubber bushings, a large top washer and a nut.....I believe. Its been a while since I did mine. Try a search, I think there was a previous post with pics.

I beleive you can reuse the GT's upper strut cover. It's what bolts to the shock tower and the strut goes inside and bolts to it.

Go take a look at your GT and you'll see what I mean. It looks like a sleeve on the top of your strut. Look under the hood at the strut towers and in the center you'll see a big nut. Undo this and the shock will drop out of the sleeve.

Well I got it together last night, I had to re-use the dust cover assembly from the stock strut. The top of the dust cover is like a giant washer with a rubber isolator on it. It fits into the bottom of the upper mount plate. I'm not sure why they don't include a new one of those with the struts.

Anyhow, thanks for the help everyone! :nice:
