Is it considered owning someone if you have a beautiful girl in your car with the top down while they drive past you in a turbocharged grocery getter?

see all these people with wrx's are giving them a bad name, i hate it! i own a modded wrx and practically everyone on the boards are mature and dont talk crap and dont think there the **** like the ricers do. And actaully you dont need to spend 5k+ to make a wrx fast. all you need to do is get an exhaust and a reflash (ecu) and you can beat a farley modded GT. and yea you can launch the wrx very nice, you can be bouncin off the rev limited and slip the clutch and the thing just takes off. But why are you comparing a mustang too a wrx??? mustang is a strait line muscle car, the wrx is a twisties rally car. there completly different cars, kinda pointless to be comparing them.

thank you. the wrx is a great car.. its not a grocery getter. Its a sports car from the inside out and pretty cheap to get power out of. Some people need to deal with it.

It's actually an upgraded Impreza, which I would call a grocery getter. I didn't say it couldn't perform, my point was that I would rather go slower in a Mustang than faster in an Impreza.

it's hard to say what you need to beat a modded wrx because they can be modded to high hell

you should beat stock ones, stock for stock

Just because he stomped you doesnt mean he has a bunch of cash in it...a good example of this is my friend at works 90 AWD 4 cylinder eagle talon....he has around 5-6K in his ENTIRE car, including purchase price, and the last time he went to the track pulled a 12.9 @ 109...BTW he wasted me yesterday when we raced for a short ways at around 55MPH, I let off at 75 or so cause he had about 1 1/2- 2 cars on me by then LOL.He is now running quite abit faster than 12.9s now because of a new larger turbo (same boost 17PSI, but more airflow) and some exhaust work. Supposedly once his new CPU gets here he is going to dail it up to 25-26 PSI, which is actually just putting it in its effency range...heck he is using injectors that are about equal to 60lb.hr and he has them at 95-100% of their duty cycle, depending on boost...so now he is getting 90 lb.hr along with the CPU.Jeeze if felt so weird seeing him pull from me like that, couldnt even hear the turbo or blowoff valve, just heard the fairly quiet muffler/exhaust.BTW no HUGE cannon either, like 3 inch round with 2 1/2 tip or so, looks small but VERY respectable.

If i were you i would get an offroad X pipe, 4:10 gears, and a Zex wet kit Jetted for 75hp just in case he starts to pull. Unless he has a fat turbo he should be no problem.

You guys are awsome

I know that there will always be someone faster out there. I figured I was going to mod the car anyway and decided to use that experience as a goal. I drove the car all summer and that was the only guy I came across that I couldnt beat.

Okay so to recap: Cams, 4.10's, cpu reprogram and a O/R X ? I dont want to invest money in a intake because price for hp As for the giggle gas, not a big fan but thanks just the same

ToplessStang, do you go to Napierville or the indoor down town ?

Thanks for all the replies !!

Wow all these guys from Montreal are popping up all of a sudden we should hook up come spring!

Where do you guys get your parts ? I was looking at www.driverfx.ca (local so no cross border taxes and all that) came across the following, decently priced:

BBK 75mm TB 338.86
BBK Timming adjuster 277.41
Ford Racing Pulley set 250.57
Ford Racing 4.10's 408.34
Roush Off Road X Pipe 438.52

The only thing I couldnt find on this side were the cams.

BTW I read somewhere that the 75mm TB isint worth it because the stock one isint restrictive enough to justify it ? Someone had posted a link to modular depot with a long page. Would the cams and the above setup merrit this ?

I haven't bought much but I still find it cheaper to order from the good old USA rather than order from www.driverfx.ca even after duties. The cheapest I found the Pro 5.0 in Canada was $295+tx, I paid it $250 shipped and duties. We'll try and set something up this spring .

Yes I have seen Ted a few times and have looked at his site http://www.mustangdirect.com/ . He's the one who gave me the quote for my shifter. With 3 kids, I'm always on the look out for the best deal . If ever you get the chance, let me know Johnny's number. You can PM it to me if you'd like. Does he own a store/shop where I can go visit or is it a side job type of thing? Thanks.
