First of all...those guys know there cars can be made fast and there are the funny guys who buy sti's and take off the badges and wing. so dont underestamate any wrx car
You should be able to get him with those cams you were talking about though. My buddie has a 99 gt with 4.10 gears, exaust and ignition. he puts a shame to most wrx's. so go for it.

What do you guys mean by put to shame? if me or any other wrx owner gets beat we dont get put to shame. we go nice car what you done to it? were car enthusiast just like you! and i dont see why you guys cant except that and have to say how ****ty the wrx is, have you even ever driven one!?? if you have you will relize how fun they are stock and somewhat modded. the wrx is just maybe even more fun to drive then the Kb'd saleen. And the thing is why are you talking about smoking the wrx in the straights? wrx are not ment for straights like the mustangs are, mustangs should win in the straights because they are ment to be a drag car, a wrx will smoke a mustang in the twisties because its built and ment for the twisties. And why do you call the guys who take off the wing funny? there just like you and me who dont like ricers and take off the wing because its a little big, even tho its functional. i just dont understand why you guys have to dis such a great car for something totally different then the mustang. i mean the suby guys dont even dis mustangs they like the cobras and stuff For What There Made For, straights.

yea thats why its called the impreza wrx or the impreza wrx sti. whats the big deal? its the same thing with mustangs there the regular one the gt and a cobra. there all upgrades of each other. the regular mustang is mainly driven by chicks and a grocery getter, but you dont see me dising the GT and the cobra...

But then again we can all have our own opions, and i am on a mustang site so i should just stick to talk about mustang on here. im just trying to defend my other car.

By put to shame, I meant beat.. I'm not ragging on the Rex at all, I just wanted to know what it would take so I didnt get caught with my pants down again. I mean cmon I had the car for a week.

As for the funny comment I think its equivilant to some of the GT guys putting pony emblems on the side. I dont think it was intended to be insulting.

BTW Dude, take the time to read the whole thread. I actualy learned abit about the WRX here, sure there were some anti coments here and there, but were on a mustang site here. Go to a honda site and ask them what it would take to beat a mustang, I'll bet you'll get similar results.

Racing a wrx from a roll is more in our favor than a stop. Their AWD is a huge advantage out of the gate.

They are mid 14 second cars stock so they will run with a GT vert stock for stock.

Good luck and just be thankful you dont drive one of those goofy bug eyed eye sores.

I dont agree...unless his clutch is upgraded and he has tires to handle his awhp. I have raced a heavily modded WRX and he keeps smoking his clutch and cant hear his car next to me with my magnapaks so he dont know when to shift.

Don't kid yourself about these cars, they have power adders (TURBO) we dont!! So unless your packing all the bolt on's and leave before he does he will win everytime. These cars are no joke, its not a regular ricer kid, these people have paid $25k plus for their ride and know what it can do.

Tell him to meet you at the track & run AVGAS! hahaha

I'm in the same boat as you, and know how frustrating it is to be beaten by an engine that has four cylinders less. You will need to bolt on all the mods or a blower or nitros to prevent this.

I disagree for the fact that they run similar 1/4 times as a stock GT stang but their trap speed is a few mph lower. They get a huge gain off the line but arent as strong from a roll where their main advantage is gone.

I am just talking stock cars not modded ones. It doesnt really matter if they have a power adder or not 300hp is 300 hp no matter how you get it.

My point is that even the V6 Mustang is a sporty looking coupe. The Impreza is a boring looking sedan. That is my whole point behind the grocery getter comments. I've already said the WRX is a good performer. I just think it looks like a boring sedan with a hood scoop and a wing. And besides, an SRT-4 is a Neon upgraded to a fast model. I still think it looks like a grocery getter with a body kit even though it has decent performance.

Not everyone thinks that. I met a lot of people this past summer who totally bashed how Mustangs looked.

I thought they were crazy, but it's their opinion.

I got paired up with one at the 1/8 mile track. He red lighted, I didn't and I still beat him off the line. He only caught me at the line because my intake had a crack in it and the car started to miss out! Bottom line, they can be beat. One last point, my car is a vert and I didn't have my wife in the car at the time or the top down!

I appreciate you defending the subi community, even though I am not, and never have been part of it. I have experienced enough of other communities to know that they are all the same, for the most part. For example, we mustang guys know that the stang community is friendly, and very approachable. . . for the most part and we all think the chevy community is stuck up and such - but guess what - thats what they think of us!

my buddy and I have study hall together, and he always goes on the grand national forums, cause hes got one, and he said one time, that the chevy community is way nicer and cooler.

point is, that whatever group you get into, you will always have the die hard biased guys that think their ride is ultimate, and all others should burn. there are honda members like this, as well as neon, subaru, chevy . . . whatever. but every community also has the friendly car guys, that have their eyes open and see things for what they are. they let the die hards think what they want, and can have a peaceful conversation from almost anyone!
