How to change brake pads

the backing plate where the piston meets the brake pad and the edges where it will slide on the bracket that holds the pads

I made a 1337 drawing to highlight this area. The picture is the front of the pad, so the red part is the part that contacts the rotor and the black part is the outer edge that gets seated into the caliper. I lube up the areas in yellow on the drawing...sometimes I'll do a little extra but just remember that exposed lube can pick up little rocks and crap so you don't want gobs of it. And of course be extra sure you don't get any on the rotor or the pad itself as the stuff is made to not burn off yet keep lubricating under high temps.
