How to fill hydraulic jack

Hey guys, i got a NASCAR 3 ton jack from my cousin, and supposedly it needs fluids. Right now it will only jack up about 8 inches.

There are two holes on the pump, what is the propor way of filling this? Or flushing the fluid? Brake fluid works to refill right?

there should be a threaded bolt for that mine was $hit too till i filled it up.

And i found that i made every wrong move i could! First of all i used brake fluid, which that site says is very bad. Second, i was playing with the check valve/overload valve which is also very bad, the guy says i could have toasted my jack. I've had enough fooling with it today, so i just drained out all the fluid i could, and im going to take another look at it tomorrow.
