This might sound like a dumb question, but would JB Weld possibly work as a fix for this? I mean, given proper curing time, and maybe drilling a couple of holes for the stuff to seep through and bond through/around the frame pieces being "welded" together, it seems like it *might* hold ... umm, right?
I am definately going to be trying this in the next month or so. Mine has the lean to the side bad and the catch doesn't work either so it leans backwards a bit too.
I am wondering if I could pop rivet the parts back together though as i don't have a welder....
You could probably use rivets but I think a bolt would be a lot stronger.
By the way, if anyone with a 87 to 93 mustang tries this I would appreciate it if you let me know what the differences are in the seat as I did it on a 86 seat.
I also know how to fix the catch thing (had to do it on my car) so when you slam on the brakes the seats don't go flying forward. If there is any interest I could do a small write up how to do it.

i used a competition engineering eight point roll cage to fix the problem. the seat is rock solid now.
