ok what would i need to do to get 400hp out of a fox stang 225hp stock .... i was thinking heads (AFR/TFS), cam, intake (edelbrok performer RPM II) 80mm throttle body.....i was also wondering if that holley engine package for 86-93 EFI that produces 350hp ...... it has heads cam intake roller timing chain pushrods and cylinder head bolts ........then maybe add a 331 or a 347 stroker kit to get that final 50hp... what do u folks think??

400RWHP is going to be hard with a N/A 302. Especailly if you want it to be streetable. It would have to rev high. A SuperCharger alone won't do it, but I have scene the dyno of a stock from throttle body to oil pan pack out almost 400RWHP and almost 500RWTQ. Maby a bottle would get you there. 80MM TB??? Maby a 70-75mm TB with a 80MM MAF.

400hp is definitely achievable...although the "streetability" will be limited. Check out this article:

Probably the AFRs 185cc. i wouldn't run them on a 302 though, might be a little too big unless you have a big cam.

Do you want 400 to the flywheel or 400rwhp? 400 flywheel is like 355rwhp assuming 15% drivetrain loss. I think you could get there with a really nice h/c/i setup on a 302 or pretty easily with a 347. Ported trickflows, nice intake and custom cam on a 302 or you could go 347 and probably get away with box stock heads and parts and make the same numbers....

You guys need to remember that this is totally stripped down on an engine dyno. That motor would put down around 280-290 rwhp in a Mustang through a 5 speed.

i have the tfs kit with a dss 308 and hpe for 280- 315 rwhp. And then eventually put a blower on and that should be 400 with a port job.
