my h&r ss springs should come in tomarro, just in time for my b-day on thursday:D . so im exited but i need to no how to put them on and about how much time it will take. im also getting the alignment either this weekend or on monday mornin my dad might take it while im at work.

This isn't pertaining to the install, but if you do not yet have after market shocks and struts, I highly suggest waiting until you get some to install the springs.

The H&R Super Sports are some of the lowest springs in the league and they require caster/camber (C/C) plates for a proper alignment.

Following that note, if you ever plan on having any of the following, I highly suggest installing them as a package instead of one at a time over time:

Struts/Shocks (Bilstein and Tokico are recommended for H&R Super Sports)
Springs
Caster/Camber Plates (4-bolt MM recommended)
LCAs

I've heard that it takes about 1 to 2 hours depend on experience. Suspension is something you usually would want to do as a package instead of components. Just my suggestion, though.

I had the H&R SS and the car handled terribly. The drop is way too much, even with CC plates, the ride is rough. HIGHLY recommend some adjustable struts/shocks, but even then, the ride will be harsh.

The back is easy...

Jack the car up, put some jackstands under the "frame" rails on the side of the car right infront of the rear axle. You should see where im talking about... dont rest them on the plastic molding or you will be pissed, lol.

Then use a floor jack to raise/lower the rear axle itself.

Remove the rear wheels, unbolt the quad shock and the normal shock.

Lower the rear axle as low as it will go. The springs should be able to be pulled out easily. You may have to rotate them or have someone push down even further on the axle for them to go.

Install new ones, make sure the "pig tail" (last coil, bottom of the spring) is pointing in the right direction.

Once they are seated raise the axle back up, re-connect shocks and quad shocks, put wheels back on... lift it high enough to remove the jack stands and then lower the car back onto the ground. Make sure the stance is ok.

The front is not too fun. You can do 1 side at a time or both at the same time. I did 1 at a time.

Jack the front end up and place the jack stands on the "frame" rails. Use the floor jack to raise/lower each individual a-arm where the spring is housed... it will make perfect sense once you are under there.

Remove front tires.

Unbolt the brake calipers, remove the brake pads, HANG the calipers out of the way, or tuck them up in the top of the wheel well in that little space... do not let them dangle.

Disconnect the sway bar.

Disconnect the shock/strut at the bottom (not from under the hood unless you are getting an alignment ASAP).

Now take the floor jack, lower the A-arm and the spring should come out fairly easy. Again, if not have someone push down on the a-arm to get that extra space.

Re-install new spring and finish up by reversing these steps.

Not the best write up, but im tired as hell. It should go fairly smooth, its self explanatory once you start taking it apart... just be careful with the brakes if you havnt messed with them before.

If its your first time and you are a novice wrencher just plan on a full day so you can take your time.

it all depends on rusty bolts. My quad shock bolts were not only rusted, they were cross threaded as well! They took FOREVER to get off!

Alot of people run H&R springs. I would look at getting struts/shocks and c/c plates as well, in the future.
