i made a 3" intake

i used 2' of 3" pipe from the muffler shop

then i cut about 20" for the main part, jbwelded in a piece of rubber for the IAT and a brass fitting for the breather tube line

then i put a 45* bend coupler at the end and used the other 4" of pipe to connect to that, then i put another coupler to connect to the MAF then i put my filter right on the end of the MAF

its about the same price as an ebay intake, but i dont have any 90* bends like those only a 45* bend, and my filter sits almost at the fog light hole

it works like a champ for me and it was cheap. maybe that will help you some.

edit* i can get you some pics if you'd like

+2 for the pics

i'm trouble finding big enough couplers. Oreilly/Advance/tehZone has some, but they're ricer-ish 2" couplers.

where's everyone getting their's from?

you ccan get 3 or 3.5 off ebay..they arent cheap...but i have a friend who gets discounts on them

i'll get some pics up here shortly

its a pretty basic concept

tb -- coupler -- pipe -- 45* coupler -- pipe -- coupler -- MAF -- airfilter

for the IAT i just took a piece of rubber tubing that fit, cut it to about 3/4" with a hole in the pipe so that the sensor sticks through just like the OEM intake. Then I just put some JB weld around the rubber to make it stay in place..to make the IAT sensor stay put i just used a small clamp

for the vent tube you can just go to lowes or home depot and get a fitting that is big enough. then drill a hole in the intake pipe big enough. then cut the fitting and JB weld that. you can also take a small hose clamp here to make sure it stays on also.

its simple, and cheap. not the best looking thing, but it works.

Very Basic
Very Simple
Very Cheap

Nothing but pvc pipe and plumbing couplers you find at hardware stores

You can do the same with big truck exhaust pipe but you gotta weld

You just gotta get creative and get busy

Here is a pic or two of mine
My focus was on function before looking good
and
I've yet to get around to making things look better

Maybe you can get some ideas

Mr. Crockett........DFW VIce.... ..sorry..blame JT..

That's a great idea.....do you have any pics while you were cutting the fender well.....? and I think I see that you still have the breather line hooked up......and is the electronics for the MAF out of site....underneath maybe?

I'll try and list every item and the details
Just because its you Will

3" schedule 40 pvc pipe
2 Fernco rubber couplers
1 90 degree hose fitting
strap Aluminum for bracket
4 hose clamps

The inside diameter of the ProM 80mm shorty meter and 3" pvc pipe
was found to be almost exactly the same.

The oem meter mounting hole and bolt was used for the new bracket

The oem filler neck hose was reused

The act and 90 degree hose fitting was threaded in the rubber coupler
with a very tight fit by drilling a hole much smaller than needed

The bracket was just bent as needed

I got no pics of cutting a hole

I mean ... Come on Will ... You just cut it till it fits
Sorry ... I just had to have a bit of fun here

Seriously ... I used a die grinder and a cut off wheel. Removed the
material a little bit at a time and trial fit until it was good to go

You don't see the electronic module cause it is on the back side.

Yes ... I run all emissions equipment
and
The oem closed pcv system

I think that is it my friend

Lemme know if you got more Q's
but
I already told you more than I know about it

I just got it Crockett ... DFW ... Vice

I'll have you to know Will :Word:
I do not own a White or Yellow or Pink jacket

U know...pink is coming back........but that is a fad I can live without..............unlike the low cut jeans of the 70's.......but if parachute pants come back........I'm gone.....

Fox VC's

Cut the tube in half and used a ricer car radiator hose to reposition it

I ain't tearing it all apart to just shoot a pic

Its just simple ole common sense hot rodding at work

If you had the vc on the motor .......
it would be very obvious to you ..... no doubt about it

Lemme know if you got more Q's my friend
