Ok guys im turning to you b/c kenne bell offered not a single answer for me whatsoever.

I ahv a 98gt with a 00gt motor in it. Heres the problem area: I kept my return style fuel system as well as my coil packs ignition. I didnt go to returnless or COP.

Now that im reading and gearing about kenne bell's new kit i like what i see. Ive yet to hear a single compliant about them.

My combo causies the following issues:

Kenne belle kit requires the use of 01 and later fuel rails, supposedly due to the shape of the rail. However since i kept the return style fuel system i dont think that my 98 rails will mate up. Does anyone know if the 98 and 01-present rails are the same shape and injector location? A picture would help me i supposeHeres the deal. The kit for the 99 and newer cars prsents me with a few issues. If anyone can help me come up with a remedy it';d be a major help. Previous PI years will not work. Is it possible to use a set of aeromotive or steeda rails and somehow make them work with this blower?
Also will location of any of my 98 accessories conmplicate the install of the kenne bell kit?

Last thing is if someone with a 01gt could post a close up view of bioth passeneger and driver side rails itd be great.

Thanks for ANY help as this one has me scrathcing my head

The kit will come with new rails if it is a pre-01 motor. Did you try emailing KB?

I know that the pre 01 comwe qwith supplied rails. However since i kept my 98 return style fuel system i dont believe the rails wll work. I may be wrong but thats what im asking!

They have no idea. I spoke with an online tech and also with someone over the phone. They have no answers for me. I diont wannad drop the cash obnly to get stuck with a blower that will not work.

Bottom line, the blower will not work unless you change everything i.e. fuel system and ignition to a 99+ model. Kenne bell will not even sell the kit unless this is so.

That makes no sense. Ignition is not the problem ans can be tuned around. My onlt problem is the rails. Ive heard of a guy on here awhile back with the same problem and he modified the rails to run a return line. Thats why i posted ansd although ive searched for a few days now i cant find the thread.

Yes, the KB T-1000 '99+ kit "will" work on a return-style fuel system 4.6L modular be it an altered-n-modified '96-'96 Stang as well as on a '96 T-Bird providing of course one is running '99+ head config.
So, while it'll work... is it easy? No! .....Does it require substantial modifications in several areas, with some custom pieces invloved (including either an aftermarket rail set-up and/or modifications to retain the return-style fuel system as well as the DIS coil-packs)? ..... Yes.
Can it get expensive?... Yes

But it works nonetheless.

Also what did youe end up doing in prder to keep tyour retrun style system? What band rails did yab runa dn what trouble did you encounter as far as the fuel system itself was concerned. I can tune around the ignition, its the fuel rails/return system that i need answers for!

Thanks!!

I got one...and a LOT of Lightning owners do as well. I ordered my KB Blowzilla/Flowzilla kit from KB around this time last year. I waited and waited as KB blew smoke about it shipping next week....well after 20 "next weeks" I called and cancled my ordered. KB is known for having supply issues. Support is minimal at best. I know I dont post here a lot, so you may think my info is biased, but I am always around TurboMustangs.com if you have any more questions. Also, check out www.nloc.net
