Took mine off and spray painted it with some black, looks like brand new

Yeah, I just used regular Krylon... Regular not high temp... I guess it would be better to use high temp.

I really do not like the fact that the leading edge of the hood is a big air vent underneath it that lets bugs and water fly in all over the engine and hood blanket I guess it is necessary for engine cooling though...

You don't worry about engine heat baking the paint or is this a weekend warrior you're talking about?

Is that it in your avatar? That looks sharp! I wouldnt mind doing that (silver GT also). What type of paint? I have some silver touchup paint that I got from autozone (taped off some deep scratches that i had *2ish* and painted inside the scratch), so maybe that would work.

I used Rustoleum semi-gloss black. I also used it on my mirrors, chin spoiler, grille delete and cowling (under the wipers). Never needs armor-alled again.
