I've seen it done..but can't figure out how they do it. Does anyone know how pop the hood on the car w/out the latch?

It's easiesr to see if you get under the car the first time, but basically the latch leaves open access to the tab that the cable connects to from underneath. So it's just a matter of reaching up and pulling the little tab on the latch.

the expert has spoken. Adam does it blindfolded standing up.

East to do it on the 85-86 cars and LX's. The grill is open so you can reach behind and push the tab to pop the latch. I do it all the time with my car. It's a pain going into the car sometimes.

Comes in especially handy when your friends aren't looking and you want to pull their coil wire off without going into the car.

Not that I'd ever do anything like that.

I know how that goes; a friend of mine just got his licence (the first one in our group to get it!) and he got a 2000 Durango. The other day he walked away to go get a soda, and being the car guy of our group, I reached under, grabbed the hood latch cable, and tugged. It popped, I popped the hood and unplugged the coil wire. I shut the hood and he came back, and I asked him for a ride somewhere....he cranks it a couple times and says "You have got to be ****ing kidding me!" I tell him to pop the hood, I pretend to look at some stuff, then I just started laughing and showed him what i had done.
