I have been debating for a couple of weeks now about removing all my ac stuff.

I'm going to keep the heater so anything that goes together needs to be retained.

How do I go about removing the compressor and all the lines and stuff. I just want to tear it back to the firewall.

That crap just gets in the way. this car is on its way to mostly race duty anyway.

Is there stuff i have to discharge like the freon and crap and what does all that entail.

anybody know the size belt for a 94 gt with no smog and no ac?

all help is welcome, lets hear your thoughts!!

The only parts you will need are an A/C delete kit, I like the FMS kit. The belt will rub the water pump belt if you try to go without it. You could just detach the A/C lines and let it vent to the atmostphere, but it's illegal and freon is toxic, many A/C places with suck it out for you for real cheap to nothing. When you remove the compressor, your also going to remove the whole bracket assembly. Also, the P/S pump will have to be removed, just the two bolts that hold it to the brackets. Then just bolt it to the A/C delete brackets. The condencer sits in front of the radiator. You can take the fan off and unbolt the radiator and slide it forward so you can then unbolt the condencer and pull it out. This will free up alot of air to the radaitor. Then remove the lines and the canister near the firewall. Removing the unit behind the firewall is not worth it, if you do, go ahead and replace the heatercore while you are back there.

Your going to remove quite a bit of weight, about 30lbs+ from the front of your car. The radiator is going to cool better also. I don't quite know how, but I felt the difference SOTP. Also dropped .1 down the 1/8th. I am looking into the Flaming River Manual Rack conversion, it dropps another 30lbs off the front of the car, and fees up a pulley like the A/C delete.
