How to remove front brake line?

I'm putting 99+PBR calipers on my 94 GT and I have to put the 99+ brake lines on. I can see where the rubber brakes line attaches to the hard line, but I cant get the damn thing loosened up. I'm afraid if i pull much harder it is gonna strip the fitting. Are they left hand threads or something? Do I need to heat them up or something?

Hit with some power lube and let it soak in. Should break loose then

Those can be a real bitch to get loose when they are seized to the line itself. Try soaking it in penetrating lube for a good long while, it usually comes loose after a while. Yours should come off, I've unscrewed fittings that were in much worse shape than yours. A good thing to do is to soak all the fittings the night before you plan on taking it apart, and again a few hours before you do it. Usually helps alot.

Oh, and yes they are normal right-hand thread. I wouldn't use heat on it, but maybe its just me....

i hope your using a line wrench, if not that fitting will soon be wrecked.

99+ caliper. they use the same rotor as our cars but the caliper itself is better. dual piston i belive

I didnt know what a line wrench is, but I assume it works better because you get more grab than an open-end, so it wont round it off.

I'll throw some WD-40 on it tonight and try it again tommorow after stopping at sears for a line wrench.

Bought a line wrench and soaked em good with wd40. Came right off like a charm. The retaining clip was actually harder to get off, but eventually it came loose.

Now I've got PBR calipers up front and brand new oem style calipers in the rear. Hopefully with a good flush it will cure my spongy pedal.

Also put on new swaybar bushings & link.

Those look sweet! Let us know if you notice a good difference in breaking, it might be worth doing if my stock calipers every take a dump... thats if I can't afford the cobra breaks when that does happen...
Are they a direct fit for our spindles?

One last question: Did you have to also buy the 99+ caliper brackets or did they fit the stock '95 ones?

is there an install guide for brakes? I need to do a bleed and change rotor and pads soon, maybe I will switch to PBR If i can afford it, wht is total cost to convert the front?

You def need the brackets too, the calipers are alot bigger.

I got the whole front setup for $100 shipped on ebay, that included the brake lines too. I got a really good deal tho, and the calipers barely look dirty, let alone used.
