how to remove front bumper?

What does it take to get the front bumper off? I know theres two nuts or bolts on each side that holds it to the fenders, but what else is there holding it on? Isnt there rivits holding it on too? If so how can I get them out and what can I put back in to replace them?

I think it's just those plastic rivets. I can't remember any thing else holding it on but it's been a while.

I just reused the rivets I could find, I lost a bunch ...So I used ones from my little bro's car...

I'll go outside and double check.Are you removing the bumper to install an i/c or what?

Yeah it looks like a couple screws in the fenderwells and plastic rivets on the bottom and under the hood.

Like I said, the rivets can be reused if you are careful,but you can use anything that fits to get the bumper back on. If you want it to look nice try the company called Fastenall(not sure if they have a website).They make all sorts of fasteners and I bet they have something that would work.

just bring it over, and il pull it in 5 minutes..
actually, bad idea.. my house is bad luck for your car.

steps are:

-Drill out the 2 rivits up front, on those 2 bumper mounting tabs
-pull the plastic bottons from the bottom
-Unscrew the self taping, phillips head screws on the fender lips (2-3? each side)
-Reach around in the innder fender, and unbolt the nuts that mount the bumper on the fender. These are 10mm nuts, possibly 11mm ( forget) there are two on each side.
-Then gently pull forwards, while someone wedges a screwdriver under the bumper tabs, under the headlights. Youll see what i mean, once this causes you problems.
Should pull off from there.

Once youve done it a few times, it takes all of 2-3 minutes to pull off/put on

It's easier to pull the entire front clip off. It's just screws and bolts and it's off. I had never done it before and it was off in 30 minutes.

Yes, I'm taking off my bumper so I can work with the intercoolers and pipes a lot easier.

I havent worked on the car in about a month (minus the turbo rebuild) so I dont have any cold side piping done. I just got in new injectors (thanks Andy) so I should have all the parts needed to finish it up. I just started a new job so that has taken a lot of my time along with girls, and all the rain hasnt helped out any.

Mike... I'll just keep it at my house This doesnt seem hard to do just was wondering what was holding it on.

Joe, Where are the screws that hold the entire front clip in? I might just do that instead. I just wanted to remove the bumper so I can still drive it somewhat legally until I finish it all up and didnt want to have to keep pulling the bumper and putting it back on.

I guess a little update on the car... Turbo was leaking, got it rebuilt last week finally, but my drivers side header (#8 tube) will smoke really bad when I rev the car up... Dont know why. I can smell oil burning when I accelerate somewhat fast, and I get white smoke coming out of my exhaust which I think is from a headgasket not sealing right... Little chit thats slowing me down even more.

there are two nuts per side in the fenerwells, then the phillips head srews that hold the inner fender in. Under the front of the bumper and on top there are the little plastic christmas tree plus that they sell a special tool to remove( not needed but it looks kinda like a screwdriver with a slot in it for prying them out. ) then you need to get under the front of the car and under the headlights (one on each side) there is a plastic flap with a little tab on it. While somone is gently pullong on the bumper, use a long straight blade screwdriver to push on the tab so it slips over the header panel.
