I need to pull these parts off to paint them so that they will match the newly painted body and not look like ****e. Anyone know how to get them off without breaking them?

the rear quarter windows? just from what i've seen on here, i think they don't come off. i think they and the window are permanently together. i've heard u can sand them and paint them on the car, and i've seen plastic covers for them too....

The rear quarter windows are something I'm still debating on working on but the molding I'm talking about is the metal that rings the windshield and the rear window on the hatch. Also how do I remove the metal cap that runs along the outside bottom of the door windows? Both of mine are loose and in need of some cosmetic attention.

the tool pictured with the triangle head is the one you need to do it right. It slides between the glass and chrome and lets you gently pull back on the clip so you can get the chrome trim out. You can get it out if you are real careful with a flat blade screw driver but you run the risk of scratching the paint or breaking the glass. I worked doing autoglass for 3 years so I've done both before. There are a couple of tools that pull back on the clips they look a little different but do the same thing. You can get one at any auto parts store. Thats the best way to go.
