So I have a budget of $1,500 that I'd like to put towards my engine. I own a 1993 that for the most part has seen some upgrades, such as:

Powerdyne 5 lb Supercharger
3:55 Gears
BBK shorties, Basanni catted X-pipe, Flows
155 LPH fuel pump
6AL ignition
Caster/camber plates
Subframe conectors
Lower control arms

The car will mostly see street use and the bottom end is still in good shape. More than likely I will buy a stronger short block later but for the time being I'm looking for something that is quick but will not shread my drive train.

Here's what I was thinking:

Edelbrock Performer Intake
Comp Cams XE264HR Camshaft
42 LB Ford Racing Injectors
Fuel Regulator (eliminate FMU)
C&L 73 MM MAF unit (calibrated to 42 LB fuel injectors)
Accufab 70 MM Throttle Body
8 LB pulley

The next item on my list will be a set of AFR 165 heads. The 185's are inticing but given that the car won't be going to the track I figured that the 165's will be a wise investment.

Any ideas?

+1 for the heads. Selling the Powerdyne to spend twice as much on a turbo isn't very sound advice. I'd save a little more, were I you and pick up an intake to go along with those heads. Then when money starts to grow again a pulley and fuel upgrade will really let you take advantage of them.

Right...sell it for $500.00 after probably paying $2,500 for it to start with, just to turn around and sink another $2,000 into a turbo set up....that is of couse if he's got the way or the means to build a do it yourself kit. Like I said....not very sound advice.

see i was being sarcastic, of course you will get more than 500 for it. so add what ever you get for the s/c on top of the 1500 and you can have a nice turbo setup

turbo is better than sc anyday. You could make your own turbo kit and spend less than 2k easy with a brand new master power t70 and .68a/r. All it would take is some mandrel bends, a pair of testicles and a welder

That is unless you dont enjoy instant boost and burnin through tires? did i mention guys are slammin in the 10's with stock bottom endds
