How to stop brake chatter?

I have been wondering what the rattle noise was in the front when I would go over expansion joints and just found out it goes away if I am on the brakes lightly. So is there a way for me to stop the brake rattle? I assume its the pads against the rotors. Or are their some kind of slider on there that needs to be greased

I have done Cobra brakes twice I can't remember if they have sliders on the front!! If they do, one could be missing, or bad. I had one on a GT break and fall in between the pad and rotor.....WOW....talk about squealing!!! It ruined my rotor and pad!!
