I have one in the garage I took out of an engine it was in for 500 miles as I went another way with the build - From what I hear it makes a nice rumble at idle with greater power in the mid to upper rpms - If anyone wants it CHEAP send me a PM.

Agreed the newer grindes are 250.00 to 320.00 and you WILL have a better idle quality !! Cam tech is always changing and it is always easyer to change an existing spec to something better!! However... the B cam was and still is the Cam that will still allow 12s with stock heads... cost half as much as the newer grinds and idle from hell!! If the cam is in there now... advance it a few degrees and have fun!! As far as the other B cammed cars running slower... it wasnt the Cam!! it was the rest of the setup. No slam here, just an observation... cool??

I got a b cam, see my sig for times and horsepower but I havent' dynoed the car since I ported the lower, the times are righ though... I have also had to pass emissions with it. Just make sure you got cats on the car when you have it tested and you should squeak by. Make sure your tune is spot on, the car is warm and you're money. It does sound awesome and pulls nicely up top. You might notice a small loss on the lower end of the tach but with better breathing mods it'll pull nicely. My times beat lt1 camaros by 1 or 2 tenths average at the track if they're running right and minimal mods. Remember, it's texas heat (mid 90's) if you're up north and sea lvl, you'll see a better et... I run nitto's, don't remember if thats in my sig... I don't plan to change the cam and I got it for 50 bucks new. my .02 is that was worth the bux...

I just did a B cam and 1.72's in my buddys 94 GT and its an absolute crapload faster and as said before the idle is evil sounding. It's without question a great upgrade for a near stock motor, especially with stock heads. Its cheap, proven, and definately makes the car a lot more fun. Most of the people that hate on it dont have and never have had one.

i've been running the b cam in my 90 lx fox almost 6 years now and i've never had any trouble out of it. i have used laughing gas - zex kit - on many occassions and never encountered a single problem. without the n2o the b cam gave me better midrange, and it really seemed to prove its worth when i went from 2.73 gears to 3.55's. third gear is way long and pulls great. then i started hitting it with laughing gas in third and the fun factor went through the roof. if you're looking for a great sounding, economical cam, the b cam isn't a bad choice. if you're looking for something radical with sheer power all the way through the range then i would look for something else.

b cam on a mostly stock engine is pointless. You will need beater heads and more compression

I had a B cam in my 91 GT that had home ported E7's, cobra intake, shorty's, O/R H, Flowmaster catback, 70mm TB, and a 73mm mass air. That car ran strong and pulled to 6,000 no problem. I ran a severely traction limited 8.81 at 81 mph with 3.08 gears in the 1/8th. That was with stock 1.6 rockers. There is deffinetly better newer grind cams but the B is not terrible. The cam does have a very aggresive sound. I got complements all the time on the sound. I would use the B cam before the E I have never really liked the E cam at all. Like thumper said I outran a stock 2000 Z28 on the street. It was a auto I could not have out ran a 6 speed LS1.

In a basically stock car the B cam will suck "BAD". The B cam likes compression, and will not start to pull hard until 4000rpm. The cheap way is gt40 ebay heads and have them milled for more compression. I would also port the stock lower intake, or get a cheap cobra intake off ebay. You can also safely port the stock throttle body to 65mm. If you mess up a TB is like $15.00 at the junk yard. Gears would also be nice. "355 or 373"

NO.. it wont sux bad, install the B303 in at 4* advanced!! and you must have a set of 3.73!! cool?? If you have none of these.. gears/ intake / t-B / ect.. you WILL see a gain, just not as much as when you do add the other mods!! OH, and race people fron a roll!! 'cause your off line will SUX with a set of 3.08s..yes??

Believe it or not it wasn't all that bad with the 3.08's. When I finally installed a set of gears in that car I actually slowed down in the 1/8th because of traction though because I was running radials.

if I install a b cam with thumper e7's and a tmoss ported intake will I see mpg take a hit? the car is a 5spd and will have 3.73's, 24lb injectors, bbk LT's. my goal is 280-300 to the wheels. is that doable with this combo? or should I stick with the HO cam?

ugh people just buy the b-cam for the idle, if you say otherwise youre lying, theres MUCH better cams out there to be had for the same exact price. I had the TFS1, it was great for an OTS cam made great all around power and had a nice lumpy idle, now I have a custom and well you know what everyone says, once you go custom you never go back.

If it sucks so bad why is nick running low 13's with just a bcam and gears.. His heads were stock when he ran low 13's and he had slicks. Read up a little more. My friends car has a 306 with a b-cam and milled, ported and a competion valvejob done on gt40p heads and it runs like a raped ape..

I think theres too many variables to say that the cam was a major factor in him running 13's, imo it was more good shifting, lots of practice, gears and slicks. Im sure the car will run okay with any cam, but for the same price you can get yourself a tfs1 that has a much broader powerband.

I know the custom cam thing has been beat to death, but fox just spent 2600$ on a supercharger, i think he should shell out another 300 for a b-31 cam instead of an alphabet cam. If youre that hooked on abc cams, get an F at least.

Well on a tight budget a b cam would be the way to go.. Mobs low run was his 3rd time out i believe. I diddnt break the 13's till my 4th time out and only did it once..

HOLY OLD TOPIC BATMAN!

yeah i posted this when i was starting to build my engine i run now. i am using the b-cam. i am seriously thinking about getting the AFM blower cam or go custom.

i got the b-cam dirt cheap. i dont think the ford cams are as bad as people say they are solid performers. they have been used to death and they work. but there are better cams now.

on the plus side the b-cam has a good idle lol i always get kids going "HOW BIG IS THAT CAM DUDE?"

i tell them the specs and most of the time they dont understand what i am saying. they just think its sick because of the lope.
