Hows this deal sound?

89 notch. real clean, straight body
gray interior, real good shape.
the cars got 81k on it
the engines from a 96 explorer, gt40 intake and all. then engines got like 55k on it.
the cars got a 5.0 tranny and rear, as well as shorty headers, off road H, and mac catback
the engines also got a bbk tb, 65mm i think. the car also has a new radiator. 4 good condition pony's as well. prob a few more things, but thats basically it.

2500. sound good?

If it is a conversion car I would try to get it for less. Like maybe $2000.

The price makes it sounds like a conversion car if it's straight and clean and runs well. But you know what? It wouldn't stop me from buying it. Had an '89 LX that was a conversion car and loved it.
There were a few things that were screwed up; like the fact that it still had 4 cyl. front brakes, and the fuel lines had to be 'adjusted' to clear my aluminum driveshaft. There are other things that will give you some trouble if the car wasn't 'fully converted'.
What you should do is educate yourself on every little thing that is different between the 4 cyl. and 5.0 cars (I know there are sites out there dealing with this) and check them out when you are looking at the car.
I don't know what bothers people so much about conversion cars honestly..........

yea its a conversion car. its got v8 tranny, rear and brakes. the guy isnt so crazy about selling it but needs money.
when you say is it converted to h.o., wat do you mean? the 5.0 HO cam?

He said it has an 96 explorer 5.0, all those were roller motors I thought. It might even have GT40P heads on it anyone know what yrs those were on? The fact that its a converted car wouldnt stop me from buying it if the bodys straight and it drives good, thats a pretty damn good deal if you ask me.

Sounds like a good deal to me. If the body is in good shape. Like said above, learn about all the differences in 4 cyl cars and i'd be you could finish anything that isn't done fairly cheap.

hahaha well i had that one thread i started that went about 6 or 7 pages. but once i get a car and am familiar with it ill be helpin outher people out to return the favor.
