Well here is another question for everybody. First If you look on ebay and stuff you will see those ADD 20HP In Seconds, with a chip module. I was wonder if it worked, or if anybody has tryed it. If you can tell a diffrence.
Second I was wondering what kind of turbo i should look for???? and how much they might run me? thanks

there is a chip on ebay i bought, said it would add 30 hp, and 18 lb of tourqe....it doesnt do THAT much for damn sure. What the chip did is adjusted my shift points on my tranny, and remapped the fuel. took it a while, maybe 250 miles with the chip for the car to get everything back to perfect again, but i saw a .15 second increase in quarter time, and some gas milage increase

Shinlee, was that a chip for a turbo engine?

I've seen some of these chips on ebay, but most of them claim to give you a specific power level, not a hp increase...the ones for the turbo engine all say they'll give you 250 hp, or 275, or 300...and "all" you need is the chip supposedly. But that all sounds like a bunch of BS to me and probably is.

yea, im sure thats crap, no mine is a n/a chip and it basically recalibrated my computer to gain me some hp, torque and shift times on my tranny.

your turbo chip thing sounds like crap imo

If the car is not turbo, then a chip usually produces very small gains if anything at all. A chip will often raise the boost on turbo cars where the boost is controlled by the ECU and maybe change the timing. On a n/a engine, usually the only option is to give it more timing and possibly trim the fuel maps here and there. The problem is that the factory spends who knows how much time on a dyno to figure that out and often very little is left to improve.

Shinlee, I would never believe a chip for an N/a 2.3 that claimed to give you 30 hp, there is just no way. All the chips I have seen (made by superchips) for the 2.3L n/a give you something like 6 hp and 12 ft-lbs of torque, and that is all the more they claim. And you have to run premium for that too. Not worth it.

never said it produced 30 hp, said thats what it promised....

it kinda was lame imo, if i could go back i wouldnt buy it. and running it on regular does nothing at all either
