your compression #"s arent THAT low, if they were more then 25psi low, thats when i'd start worrying, and its highly doubtful that you're losing more than 3-5hp max from it.... i'm also pretty skeptical about an auto non-pi GT making 250rwhp with so few mods...they dont respond to bolt ons that well...they put down around 200rwhp stock, 50rwhp from minor bolt ons and a tune is a REAL stretch especially without the better heads, more agressive cams that the PI engines have...i'd be willing to bet he has the PI swap done...

as far as what people claim for HP gains on products they are generally way higher than what you'll really see...for the TB/plenum combo i'd expect 3-6hp, from the tune 10hp isnt out of the question, but it would have to be a dead on tune done by a really reputable shop...and like i said, maybe only a few hp from the compression...i think 230 MAYBE 235 would be a very reasonable goal to attain...

well i guess anythings possable about his PI swap i will just have to ask him to see if hes got it. ok i know im a dreamer so ill try and meat ya halfway ill go and shoot for 235-240 and be "happy" thanks for the input justin and i really hope your wrong about the compression taking only 3-5 hp instead of 10hp. your probably not but id like to hope that only having 1000 dollars to spend i could have a 250HP car. thanks for your input and friendly persistence in helping organize my facts with my hopes.

Hmmmmmm i never thought of that doing a valve job could cause rings to go that does make sence .

Doing a valve job doesn't cause the rings to go bad, as I explained earlier the hardened valves and valve seats will last as long as the engine. By the time the valves need doing, it's a good idea to rebuild the rest of the engine as well. By just doing the valves, the added pressure will then seep past the allready worn rings.
Just do a leak down test and see how that goes and then decide what to do from there.

Gotcha canada i didnt mean to say it that way i just meant that after i read your first post on it it seems that by fixing one problem if my rings are worn enough the new found comression could wear them out quicker leading to the same issue just it being the rings needing fixin now instead of the valve job. as for NAWZ justin im not a big fan of it i like constant HP and NAWZ would just get me into more trouble than its worth and besides then the wifes would need it cause its not somethin needin replacement that i can swap with a performance part, its added performancewhich means hers gets it too notice sig identicle HP/speed mods.

your compression is fine. if its only down 15psi on one cylinder and all others check out, thats pretty dam good.

personally with that low of a budget, i wouldnt do anything to the car. 1000 bucks in 3 years to spend on mods isnt going to get you much of anywhere performance wise, maybe a few ponies.

the PI swap can be done for cheap when you find good deals on used stuff. you can find a plenum/tb and a handheld tuner for cheap as well off ebay. then maybe a short throw, makes more of a difference than most think. driving your car better can be more of a gain than gaining 20hp and driving crappy. if you find all that **** used, theres your alotted amount to spend. youll prolly be in the neighborhood of 230-240hp.
