Is anyone using one of these consoles?

http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ProdImages/SC1BLK-C.jpg

I have been thinking about taking the easy/cheap way out and just using one of these full consoles. I have one of their back half consoles now that I like but want a full console. I'm not going to pay the $ to get a factory or repo console and was thinking about making one but my time is limited and I might just try one. I know they are not the best looking but I'm sure it will beat the black duct tape the holds my shifter boot to the carpet now. I also don't like the look of their shifter boot and would rather use something better so if anyone has one of these consoles could you let me know what the shifter opening size is?

Thanks!

I have one and think its great! It stays in place and looks alright. The one I'm using stops before the shifter though. This is what I have.

I have the older one (the new one with the billet insert would match my interior perfectly) I like it

I dont have the measurement for the hole (I thought I had one laying around to measure) but they work well with the boots that the 69/70's use. The chrome trim ring that the factory shifters use also fills in under the hole nicely. So, if you don't like the boot that ties to your shifte lever with a string, you can order the factory boot and trim ring and it will work fine. You can get a boot with a round hole for the factory shifter or a rectangle hole for the Hurst shifter.

Looks better installed than it does in a catalog, do the cupholders interfere with passenger legroom? Sure looks like it does!

tx65- that's the same one I have now and I also like it but want a full console now.

islandboy- glad to hear you're happy with it. I also like the alum insert.

mustangmutt- thanks for that info. I have a nice leather boot and didn't like the look of the one they sell for it. I might see how my Hurst boot looks with it too though.

Steve- Thanks for the link. Free shipping is good!

Thats cool. I just don't like the overly bulky look of the full one.

Having ridden shotgun in a car with one of these consoles it does interfere with the legroom a little. But hey, your driving so why care?
