Hurst Comp/Plus Short Throw Shifter

I just installed this shifter and overall am very happy with it. I was wondering though if anyone has found a way get rid of that rattling sound coming from the shifter ball. I tried tightening the spacer nut a bit, but that didn'tseem to help. I noticed that my kit came with a little cone shaped rubber grommet. I don't recall seeing an application for the installation of this piece anywhere else on the kit, I hope I didn't miss something during the install. Can anyone offer any advice and or suggestions?

Not sure what you're referring to. Mine doesn't rattle at all. Here's my install, see if you can see the part you're refering to.

Back off the spacer nut and see if you can screw the ball down a full turn or two. Then tighten the spacer nut again.

I'm not having any issues except a slight vibration (short duration) during cold startups.
