I Am Legend.

I gots one question for you about the movie......
how'd that lady and kid get on to Long Island?? Noone could get off, but they got on??
readers of said book, please expound.....

In the film they arrived by boat. If memory serves, they were on a short term refugee ship that was sent out when the airborne outbreak first occurred. Their short term refuge turned into a couple of years when a cure had not been discovered and over 90% of the world’s population died. Out of I don't know how many hundred people on the ship, there were 8 people that turned out to be immune to the disease. When they attempted to dock to re-supply, 6 of the 8 were killed by the "Dark seekers" as she called them and she and the little boy were the only two left (it wasn't clear if the kid was her son or not thought). Anyway, they picked up the radio transmission he had been sending out or a rotating frequency daily and made their way to New York to meet him.

Is it me, or did the "darkseekers" look like flesh eating robots from "I-Robot"....lol

That's one thing that brought the movie down for me. I thought the CGI was a little cheesey. Could have been better....hell, they could have (should have) just done it all with Make-up. It would have made it a lot more realistic IMO.

someone had a "borrowed" version in the barracks so everyone was taking their turn with it. good for a free movie. loved the view of the gt500 as it sped through the streets and all you could hear was the sound of it's exhaust echo off the buildings. then the hunting of the deer with the m4 topped it off lol.
