I'll give you an 'A' for ingenuity, but an 'F' for how this would actually look in a fox. Next you'll be putting air-ride seats out of a Peterbilt in the thing........

You can have a Fox interior without a center console without it looking weird, as long as you do it right. This is most easily done on the '79 to '86 interiors, since I guess some of them came without a center console in 'em. You can delete the center console on an '87-'93 Fox, but you'll have to either fab up a box for your radio and/or your HVAC controls, or get creative with some fiberglass or sheetmetal and paint. In either case, you'll likely wind up needing an aftermarket shifter boot and some means of covering the e-brake's base.

FWIW, I yanked out my busted-up console on my '86 'vert last weekend. Ordinarily, it would have been an easy deal, and all I would've had to really do was stick on the OEM e-brake cover I found in an '86 notch that came factory without a console. Unfortunately the idiot prior owner that put in the new black carpeting cut these freakin' HUGE holes out for the shifter and e-brake that I can't possibly cover without having to put in a whole new carpet or fab up some kind of trim bezels of my own.

I saw this guy put a Dodge Viper dash into an old Dodge muscle car.....Charger, or something....it was completely badass. Anything can be done. Get yourself a di-grinder and some patiens and go to work.

Well, this would be a hell of a sight to see in a Mustang if done right, it looks like its not as tough as installing a sn95 in a fox. Only it would suck to have a 85mph(?) speedo.

Mine didn't come with one. Instead it had a metal bracket along the passenger side of the trans hump that held a 12 gauge shotgun


Also i've seen the '87+ delete...a friend of mine just cut the console right behind the shifter and put a plate there. It doesn't look too bad.


I have to wonder how many of you who are bashing the Chevy interior are the ones who support the LS1 swaps..

i would get the main parts of the dash covered in a spun aluminum or stanless and put autometer in for my gauges but personaly i think it would be badass and thanks to those who support it and as well to who dont like it just shows some ppl like some dont

A custom 79-86 dash with spun aluminum and gauges and would give the same effect. It would be easier and more people would like the idea. On the other side of things I wouldnt want to hack up a classic Chevelle dash.
