Well I think I did. I was out tonight and me and my friends were in the parking lot. The clutch was already pretty messed up. So as we were parked I revved the engine and out of no where KABOOOM!!! something ****ing blew up. I just saw pieces fly all over the place. My friend in the car next to us got a picture of when the damn thing blew and got a picture of a fireball coming from the bottom of the car.

To my surprise when I looked under the car. It was shattered. It looked like the housing for the tranny or the flywheel or something just ****ing blew. There was metal all over the place. I could see the clutch cable hanging, just horrible. The clutch doesnt even move anymore. The gearbox feels all weird and loose. The GT is currently dead.

What the hell happened? Anyone have an idea of the tranny is done? Ill post some pics tommorow.

KABOOOM+pieces fly all over the place+fireball coming from the bottom of the car+shattered+metal all over the place+clutch cable hanging=BLOWN TRANSMISSION!

Sorry, but I am sure it is toast and a complete new unit is in your future.

Yea thats what me and my dad were checking out right now. The part that was laying on the ground are from the tranny.

I pushed the clutch in and revved it then KABOOM! Aw crap! How much to replace it?

Depends on what you broke?

What year car is this? Hard to say what you broke. Could be tranny, could be your clutch exploded leaving your trans OK, could be your flywheel exploded too. Lucky nother blew up into the car.

You probably broke more than the transmission. Prob will need tranny, bellhousing (T-45) a new clutch, maybe even a new flywheel. Might be other small peices you'll need to replace if it got damaged from flying metal. Tranny alone will cost $1000+, add in a flywheel and clutch and bell and you are looking at 2000-2500 in parts alone.

You won't know til you get under the car and have a look.

Looks like your clutch exploded Bummer dude. I would just grab a decent used or a new T-45 and a new clutch, flywheel, etc.. Unless of course you have the means to upgrade to a SFI bell and a tremec. . .since you got lucky and got to keep your feet.

yep you did get lucky. my clutch blew up in my 98 with only 900 miles on it when i tried to get a run in with a fox. i was even luckier though. i just needed a clutch disc cause all the material seperated.

i have a friend though his clutch exploded in a old stang piece went though the floor and cut his arm up pretty bad. he still has a good size scar from it.

Your tranny might be fine.

It looks like your clutch exploded.

You'll need a new clutch, clutch fork, possible a flywheel and definitely a new bellhousing.

Hard to see if there is any physical damage to the tranny.

You are lucky though....you still have your feet.
