....Would I stand a chance against a 91 GT vert in the quarter mile?

The only mods he has is a off-road pipe, shift kit and 3.73 gears and as for my car check my signature.

Also what kind of HP numbers did his car come with from the factory cause he says it had more than mine.

The reason I am asking this is cause we are planning on going to the drag strip next month to settle it!

Thanks,
Donny

NO you dont stand a chance!!! hp is 225 to your 215 when they were stock. Basically with the gears he is going to hand you your a** on a platter.

Me and a friend of mine had a similar rivaly when he bought his 97 GT. His car ran nice and it was a stick so he knew he was going to beat me. Then I took him to the track and smoked him nearly a second. And I have a feeling you are in for the same fate.

Be sure to resurect this thread and let us know too!!

Thanks guys,
I kinda thought I would get a spankin!

I have been in his car and it is quick off the line but I think my car is quicker after it hits 2nd gear, but maybe it's my imagination!!!

I knew I wouldn't stand a chance in the 1/8 mile but I was hoping you all would tell me I could catch him in the end in the 1/4. :(

Well if all goes right and I get my machanic paid off by the time of the race I told him I will throw a $150 or so dollars on the credit card and get a set of gears and have him install them for me and hopefully that will get me the advantage!!!! :D

I almost forgot but does his car weigh more than mine cause it's a vert and what would the differance be and would it really matter?

By the end of the month...hmmmm...do the gears and take a 120.00 and get a Tmoss ported lower, sounds like your pretty stock?...youll be amazed at twhat those 2 items will add....mostly topend...
Gears, Hpipe and the lower ported....would level the playing some for sure...you might just open a can of whoop ass on him.... :D

Where can I find the best price on the Tmoss ported lower?

I really doubt that I could afford both them items by the time of the race.

I probabaly just get the gears and pray for the best!!!!! :D

Why not advance your timing for an extra hp and run a short belt. Put your car on a major diet that will help you out.
I already figured I would bump the timing and add a bottle of octane booster b-4 the race.

As for the short belt I never thought of that, that might come in handy!!!! :D

the cars are pretty similar in weight...his might be just slightly less
Our cars must really be pigs!!!!!!!! :nonono:

I didn't think our cars weighed that much more than the fox bodies, I figured I would still have him by at least 100 or more pounds! :(

wish i could tell u anything can happen on the track.. but thats usually only the street :P... get gears and you got him, give him a shot before gears and a shot after gears.. see how much they helped.. manually shift ur car 1st and 2nd also

Tmoss ports the stock lower intake so there really isn't a way to find a better deal... although i've seen Tom Moss around the boards, i'm not sure if he is one person or like a rep of a company. I think it's just him though

Yeah he's just a guy who does great port jobs for a great price. I got mine from him about a month ago and his turn around time was awesome. He can either port the intake you send him or send you one already ported for a bit more. Great low budget intake if your not going to be able to afford a Eddy or a Trickflow.

I think you guys are giving too much credit to the Fox -- a 91 GT vert is going to be pig heavy. Back when I had had my '90 GT, I used to race a buddy of mine regularly, he had a 94 GT vert. Both bone stock. I would barely pull on him -- we're talking a car length at 100 mph, no more. Fox GT's don't weigh all that much less than 94/95 GT's, and a vert is pig heavy in any case. Unless I'm missing something, Donny doesn't have a vert, which means he probably weighs a hundred or more pounds less than the '91. I don't think he's going to get his ass handed to him. It'll be very close, since neither car has significant mods.
