I don't think it is possible to make wheels that look better then these

I like the 17" Minilite look-alikes, but not at $330 a piece. I wish Vintage Wheelworks would make their Vintage 48s in 17". Right now I'm still choosing a 17x8 with 4.75" backspace and I'm torn between getting the 200S, TTII, or the Cragars. The Hopster is too "bling" for me with all those fancy curves and stuff. Whichever I get, it's going to get the centers painted grey as I hate the chromey look. The grey-centered TTIIs cost more than their polished version!

Those Halibrand style "Eleanor" wheels are available from P.S. Engineering. Edelbrock currently does not have a supplier, and is out of stock. I ordered from P.S. last week. They don't have a website, but I spoke personally with the owner, "Phil", and he is making me up a set this week in 17X7 and 17X8 with 3.75 and 4.5 B.S.. Best customer service I have gotten anywhere !! Who else offers custom sizes and B.S. for the same price! I can't wait to get them on the '65 Price was also comparable to the Halibrands (not avail for vintage Mustang though) and Edelbrock. I'll take some pics when I get them.

I had that same thought. I love the TTIIs, but they are everywhere. I've always favored the cast spoke for of a racer look. But you're right, the grey-centered TTIIs are pretty expensive compared to the fully polished counter-part. I've wondered if I could find a good deal on a used set of polished ones and have the spokes painted to achieve the same look. Has anybody every tried painting on a polished aluminum wheel?

I felt the same way about the TTII's but I thought...to heck with everyone else. I'm going to get the wheels I like best instead of settling on another set of wheels that I don't like as much just because other people have them. Heck I'm paying for them and most of the time when you see other stangs with TTII's it's at a show, not out cruzing around. And who did you buy the car for...you or other people?

That's a good point. You don't see many older Mustangs around where I live and the ones you do see look stock.

You've got a sweet looking car. I saw the thread a while back when you got the TTII's and were contemplating lowering the car. Did you end up lowering it or is that picture a photoshop? That looks like about a 2 inch drop in front and back. What are the specs on your wheels and tires? Rolled fender lips? Dang, I'm just full of questions.

I've been thinking about 17x7 in front and 17x8 in the rear. I have no idea what tire size to run. I have 620 coils, lowered a-arms, stock ride height rear springs. I'd like to lower mine about an inch all the way around, but I don't want to roll the fender lips (new paint) to clear the 17's.

Its all a matter of opinion and personal likes and dislikes.

I dont like them
I dont like chrome
I dont like the design, yuk
Do they spin too?
may sound strange, but I wouldnt run those if you bought them for me.
But if you're happy with them ,that's all that matters

I love a wheel that has a black center section, like Trans-am racing style,
or a torque thrust D, or the magnum 500's, or a machined satin alum look . The new edelbrock 454? GT40 style is nice too.

I went with PSE 17" trans-am in powdercoated BLACK.
But im happy with them , and thats all that matters.

I'm really tired of the TT2's but that does look very nice on your car. Love the stance of it.

As for the other rim thoughts, you couldnt GIVE me a Boyd product. Dudes an ass.

Edelbrocks are nice, but I like the Eleanor style better. The other is IMO an expensive TT2, maybe a little more style, but still not enough.

Got any pics of the smoothies? I'm planning to put a set on my own '66 coupe.

These are ROH RT's in 16x7 (Although the front suspension is not Mustang so I'm not sure what backspacing you'd need) The colour is called Shadow Chrome.
