91-93 had smaller Front Fender Extensions Ground Effects for larger wheels and tires. 89s are usually a favorite of people, if you want the newest one you can get then stick with the 92 so you can have Forged Pistons.

91 and 92 are pretty much the same except the 92 got the Mini Starter if I remember right.
on GT's i assume? i've never noticed a difference year to year in '87-93 GT's or LX's as far as exterior goes. any pics?
also when did ford start using forged pistons? 86?
89 is the best year for foxes you guys come on. first year of mass air, last of tilt wheel. first year of 140 mph speedos, last for the low fuel, oil pressure, ect lights.
I drove through my senior year and the end of my junior year, and my freshman year at college all with my notch, and I've been in and out o jobs and was able to balance it. You'll live, now go find that gem!

Map pockets was an 90-93 thing.
I drove a Fox 5.0 in HS. Granted this was back in 96-99 when my '88 was only 10 years old give or take. My 5.0 is now 19 years old, and i would not want to commute in it as i've been spoiled by owning a brand new car. But when i was a poor HS kid and then moved onto being a mildly poor college kid, it was a blast to drive and easy as hell to work on. I loved that car so much I kept it even though it's been mothballed in storage for the last 3.5 years. I don't think i would buy another 5.0 today if i was looking for a Mustang
Of course as you get older, your mindset changes. When i graduated college in 2003, i went out and bought my new GT. Now it's 4 years old and i want something newer so i'm in the market again. My tastes have changed. I'm actually looking into a Volvo S60R

I'm still keeping the 5.0.
I'm just selling the 4.6L GT because i need something to commute in the snow to work.
An S60R isn't all that bad. 300HP, 295TQ, 6-spd, AWD, 13" brembo brakes, 14.0 in the 1/4 mile. Do a few mods to the turbo 5-banger and she'll move.
When i went looking for cars between my soph and junior year in high school, i was looking for a fox body also. I went to look at a few, and ende up finding my '95 GT i own right now instead. Its been thru its ups and downs (accident, maintenence, mechanical and cosmetic problems, etc), but ive stuck it out, and still own the car today and im going to be a sophomore in college. I drive from NJ to Georgia twice a year to get to and from school and except for when my fuel pump died on the way down, it makes the trip great, and i got about 24mpg going 80mph the whole way with 3.73 gears. In the long run, its cheaper to buy one of these cars because they are easy and cheap to mod and fix. Good luck with the decision!

Thanks a lot man, it's come a long way since the day i bought it! BTW, that pic of me is embarrassing haha, i was so young in that pic that i didn't even have my permit to drive the car until a few weeks later!
Don't drive your Mustang to high school. Other kids don't respect nice cars. You wanna save the car for the weekends and after school. That way the mileage stays down, your car don't get beat up, and it stays really nice. A fox body never is a poor seniors muscle car.

I've measured the inside lip of the steel portion of the front fender and it is diff on an 89 vs 93 by 1.5"
The body plastic has nothing to do with the opening. You will also note that the inner fenders are different to incorporate crumple zones. It's easy to compare when you have an 89 and a 93 side by side with both engines out and show room clean so that you can read all of the tagging.
Kids will beat up a nice fox--- a holes are everywhere. Its a really sad world we live in when people can't respect other peoples decisions.
Go buy a ZX2 for cheap... get through college, let the car take on door dings and a holes, then when you grad, go get your fox.
I thought fox bodys would be considerably cheaper than sn95s, but alot of the sn95s im seeing around are priced a few grand lower than foxs and with lower miles. Are these cars becoming more of a collectors car now? I wanted a fox, but maybe an sn95 is a better choice. Are the 94-95 5 speed GTs really sluggish compared to foxs?
