i ONCE had a guy ask my who dropped the 5.0 into my car....i sat dumbfounded for a bit and replied "ford did"

I've got one thats gonna rank sorta high. I went to look at a 98 GT one day. I'm talking to the sales manager about the car, he keeps telling me that the car gets great gas milege and is super reliable because the inline six stuffed under the hood is a legendary, incredibly powerful motor. I then correct him by telling him it is a 4.6 V-8. This pissed him off, and he went on to inform me that he priorly worked for Ford for about 7 years and that it definatly had an inline-6 for the GT package. Five minutes later he identified it as a 4.2 V-8, and then finally admitted he DID NOT KNOW you could get a V-8 IN A GT MUSTANG!! He then proceeded to tell me the car was worth $13k because it only had 75k on it. Terd sandwich.

Lol, yup. Unfortunately that is not all that uncommon. These people conveniently forget the 94-95 cars. It can't be a 5.0 unless it says 5.0 on the side of the damn car!

This guy was worse. I have 5.0 badges on the side of mine and he was still convinced it was a 4.6, lol.

Damn, around here I tell people I have a 95 and they are "oh the last year of the 5.0" I can say I only remember 1 person said They though i had a 4.6 but they believed me once I said it was a 5.0 and the tail lights were different on the 94-95 compared to the 96-98.

around here people are pretty good with knowing my car's a 5L
however, there was a really young kid who asked me if i liked the 4.6 in comparison to the old 5.0 *because i had told him i used to own a fox 5.0
and i quickly informed him the same thing...
he was pretty surprised, but hey, you learn somethin new every day.

haha! i didn't have some young $hit say it to me, but a older guy at a tuner shop who was the "head of the muscle car dept." .
-"those 4.6's are pretty quick, but you need to get our vortexx(how he said it ) kit and it'll add atleast 300horse to the wheels".
- well....actually i just told you it's a 94 not a 98, and it has a 5 liter.
-"oh man, that's why the body is so nice, someone must have smashed your car, and redone it all over, and stick one of them old 5.0's in" -all while laughing at me... and my jaw just dropping

to top it all off, i then closed the hood and was about to leave(stupidity hurts my head), so he walks around it again and says
-"Ha! i knew it, real cobra's have a bumper that says cobra on it!"

needless to say, he annoyed me, so i left 2 nice pin-strips on his new parking lot , and thanks to God.... the shop closed down like 4 months later, they did up a grand total of 5 cars while they were open....... hmmmm, i own 5 cars myself that are pretty well done up...

I used to have an 89 toyota camry in high school. Was my first car and i loved it...anyways it was the V6 version, like 165 horse motor i think. it had a 140 mph speedo. Some kid in a toyota cressida was like, "my car is sooo much faster than yours cuz it has a supra motor and a look...it goes 160 mph because thats what the speedo says."

when i had my 02 passat 1.8t, the speedo said 160, but i'll tell ya what, down hill with a tail wind the thing would have only done 120 maybe(im not sure if it was limited).

i know what you mean though, guy probably had less then 200hp, and thought he had a super car.

it was hilarious when my sons friend took his civic that he put a "vtec" in himself, to the track and only ran a 15.7 . but he always brags hes got 170hp.

I actually got my mom's 03' Passat 1.8T 5 speed up to 142mph on a 2.5 mile stretch of highway a few months ago. Only thing it has done to it is some Falken Ziex tires i got for her. I was quite impressed.

Let me tell you something. My mountain bike says it has 5 speeds. When I bought it, I was like YES this is the fastest bike in the store.

I have learned a hard lesson about bikes. If you're fat, and your legs are weak, 5 speeds don't mean ****.

me: "It's a 351 block, bored and stroked to 418."
some guy: "Ahh."

We were racing at Orlando (oval) and they had the new Charger there for show. I was looking at it and some guys in front of me were amazed that the car was an all wheel drive. The salesman just stood and didnt say anything. So when they walked away, I looked at the guy and asked him why he let the others go on about the car being all wheel??? He didnt realize it wasn't either! Wha an idiot.

Also, I hate when kids ask what my speeo goes up to. C'mon!

i stand totally corrected, i only had mine up to 115, because it was the "family car".
